Kevin V. Mincey is a Partner at Mincey Fitzpatrick Ross, LLC. Mr. Mincey has had a number of successes, focusing his practice on criminal defense and civil rights litigation while also handling catastrophic/personal injury litigation. Mr. Mincey attended the Howard University School of Law in Washington D.C. and earned his Juris Doctorate in 2002. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) in 1999 where he studied Criminal Justice. He graduated from UMES with the distinction magna cum laude.
Mr. Mincey began his career as a prosecutor with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office where he served the community prosecuting hundreds of cases before leaving the office in 2005 to start his own firm. Since 2005, Mr. Mincey has handled hundreds of matters in criminal and civil court in the Philadelphia area and other counties throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and in the United States District Court, Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Pennsylvania. Additionally, he has appeared in the United States District Court of New Jersey, New Jersey State Court and the Southern District Courts of New York and Florida.
Mr. Mincey is a Past Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Board of Governors. He is a Past President of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia, Inc. and a Past Chair of the Advisory Board of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia. He currently serves on the board of the Pennsylvania Innocence Project, and he has previously served the Philadelphia Bar Association as the Special Advisor the Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Chair of the Diversity in the Profession Committee (2012-2015), Chair of the Criminal Justice Section, and as a member of the Judicial Selection and Retention Committee. His service also extends to the National Bar Association, where he previous served as the Region III Director and Deputy Director and as a member of the Judicial Selection Committee. Mr. Mincey is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
Mr. Mincey received the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia’s Outstanding Young Lawyer award in 2017. In 2014, Mincey Fitzpatrick received the Pro Bono Award from the Philadelphia Bar Foundation in recognition of the founding and running of the Barristers’ Expungement Clinic from 2011 to 2014. From 2011 to 2014 Mincey & Fitzpatrick donated over one million dollars in legal services during its operation of the Barristers’ Expungement Clinic.
